Dr. Cindi Rossi
Teaching has been my first love for many years. Along with my 25-year career as a technical writer and editor, I've been teaching writing, literature, and communication courses for UMUC since 1976, and I've been teaching online since 1993 or so when UMUC began trying out distance education. In 2011, I joined the graduate faculty at UMUC in the Master's of Distance Education program!
These days, I am a professional adjunct for UMUC and Park University (both online) and distance learning consultant. My Ph.D. is in Education Policy Studies and Leadership.
My research interests are in distance learning, teaching and learning, assessment, faculty and student success.
In 1998/2002, I wrote the The Guide to Writing and Research for UMUC students and faculty. The Online Guide to Writing and Research can be found online at http://www.umuc.edu/writingcenter/onlineguide/index.cfm.
Offline interests include music, environmental conservation, and T'ai Chi play. In spring 2009, I founded an organization called Friends of the State Line Serpentine Barrens (see http://statelineserpentinebarrens.org). Currently, my residence is in Low Country, South Carolina, but I am temporarily living in Fredericksburg, VA.
